Maida Vale Primary School
Our bushland is nature right at our doorstep with a lot of native plants that belong in Maida Vale, but it also has a lot of introduced plants and weeds that shouldn’t be there. It is beautiful and we want to protect it.

Our Green Lab area is butting on to our school and needs to be protected. Over the years sections of the bushland at Maida Vale have been lost due to the extension of the school. There are a lot of animals that live there and if we destroy the land, they will have no homes. We would like to inform the community of the integral part they can play in maintaining the bushland (Maida Vale Reserve) that backs onto our school for future generations to enjoy and understand.
If we destroy the bushland, we won’t be able to learn about nature in our area. It is important because it is natural and it is our country.
We want the bushland to survive and flourish so that we can have more oxygen for the environment. We want a clean outdoor classroom for all of our school to enjoy and learn about. We want to educate the community about the importance of the species of plants and animals in our area.
Identify the different types of plants and animals that live there.
Learn about their habitat and what they need to survive.
We want to explore the Aboriginal seasons and how that effects the plants and animals.
We could do some orienteering.
We could buddy up and teach the younger years the importance of caring for and keeping our bushland.
